This is a post about Frank Herbert’s Dune and why you should read it. Or don’t, whatever floats your boat I guess. The book is older than I am, and I didn’t hear about this universe until the buzz around the movie began a few years ago. I watched it blind and on my first view and I had zero idea what was happening; A house of rich people moves to a desert and a 15 year old (according to the books at least, looks older in the movies) becomes the savior of a native group on a planet being stricken with its vital resource. It’s one of the weirdest books I've ever read but also one of my favorite books of recent memory and here are some of the reasons why.
