Contrary to popular belief, I do exist outside of the confines of The Echo. I am very very real. And with this realness, I decided to do some exploration in the literary world during the summer. I branched out to new genres. I found new authors. I read Jurassic Park and am now the proud owner of a procompsognathus.

Jurassic Park is a classic, okay? Fight me over it.

Anyways, lots of new books. Interesting literary experiences. But no mind-blowing revelations graced my mind despite my readings of The Outsiders, Catcher in the Rye, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Dune. I was thoroughly underwhelmed by these books, and I can tell you the three reasons why.

  1. They’re not intimidating reads like everyone says.
  2. These authors suck at describing their characters.
  3. Holy pacing issues.

(Jurassic Park and Raptor Red were the only two free from these issues. God bless dinosaur authors.)
