The Echo Teen Art & Lit Mag began in 2011 as a high school literary magazine in the Tampa Bay area—a project where teens could read closely, edit thoughtfully, and help bring other young writers’ work into the world. For a decade, The Echo grew alongside its students, shaped by their care and commitment to literature.

In 2021, The Echo became Educating Creative Humans Off-Campus, Inc. (ECHO), an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Becoming a nonprofit allowed The Echo to remain student-led, mentor-supported, and mission-driven, free to publish the wide range of voices and stories that teens are already writing.

Today, The Echo is made by teens for teens, supported entirely by donations and grants. Your support helps us publish our biannual journal, maintain our online platforms, and provide experiences like the annual Echo Retreat, where student editors learn the ins and outs of publishing.

Give to The Echo today and invest in young people's creativity and literary leadership.
