The Echo Teen Art & Lit Mag is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit literary magazine made by teens for teens.
The magazine was established at a local high school in 2011 in Tampa, Florida under the guidance of writer and English teacher John Eric Vona.
In 2021, with the help of the nonprofit organization founded by a dedicated group of former staff members, The Echo Teen Art & Lit Mag began accepting submissions from around the globe. Since then, the magazine has published art and writing from many countries, including Nigeria, Poland, Singapore, and the Philippines.

2026/2027 Staff
Little Bats
Abby (left) could not be bothered to provide a bio because she is too busy reading books. When not echoing, she is held captive by the orchestra teacher who forces her to play the viola or the violin idk. Noa (middle ) once got a haircut in the staff bathroom of a Middle School Media Center and now she is more gay. She reads lots of books and collects carabiners to express her gayness. She has limited vocal volume control and opinions about women's soccer. Elliot (right) is afraid of large birds and says that the government is replacing trees with fake plastic trees to build a giant bird feeder to attract what he calls “the omega bird” that will be the destruction of mankind. Elliot also likes cats.
Silly Shrews
Bre (top left) is going to have the world's best resume by the time she leaves HS: she is starting all the clubs, she is doing all the classes, and has more service hours than there are hours in the week. She still has a life though as she reads horror books at 3 in the morning and plays The Last of Us and makes silly art and takes .5 photos of her cats. Maryn (top middle) is a disaster sandwich who loves toxic relationships, caffeine, and lesbian friends. Maryn is a goober who has lots of boogers. She is so cringe tbh. Olivia (top right) is the coolest, smartest, most talented, and most humble person in the Echo. If you ever wanna hear an artsy fartsy fashionista singer chick talk about which cartoon characters are lesbians or baby squirrel cannibalism this is the gal you go to. Emily Sumner (Bottom Left) is just a little guy. Emily poops once a week but eats three full meals a day, keeping all that food somewhere in her 80-pound body. Just to be clear, when she shits, she shits 21 meals all at once. If she enters the bathroom at 80 pounds and shits 21 meals at once, how much does she weigh upon leaving the bathroom? Please show your math. Sophia (bottom middle) is usually drowning in Ap classes. She is more chronically online than you think she is. There should be some kind of questionable game based off of what crazy things happen to her. Antha aka Samantha (bottom left) is the world's most robust AO3 user and is probably a secretly famous author with an insane cult following of teenagers just as literary hyperfixated as she is.
Gnarly Narwhals
Nessa (Pictured top left) will tell you her life story even though you didn't ask. She will give you a dramatic recounting of literally any event in her life. It will be epic, even if it was only how she got into the car that morning. Her b/f is really into planes or something. She draws and eats... a lot. Soccer . Ah, the mystical Weather Riley (top right) is an outrageous yet philosophical and monk like critter. Some say he may even be able to predict the weather... or even control it. Bailey (Bottom left) is echomaxxing #eic. The echo staff this year are her monkeys and her circus. When she's not echomaxxing, she can be found at all the local coffee shops, beaches, or tjmaxx probably✌️ her motto is live laugh love Sarah (bottom middle) can't hear you. She's too high up at a whopping five foot ten. She is also flexible enough to qualify as a spider (check the tiktok for proof) and currently accepting applications for a better personality. Hailey (bottom right) Hailey has so many hobbies and can’t decide if it’s the perfect amount or absolutely destroying her social life. Between painting, reading, collecting things, ice skating, baking, shopping, and doomscrolling, it’s a miracle she has time to sleep.
Big Booty Beluga Whales
Logan (top left) is a Wigginton who loves wiggling and gets the wiggles out by wiggling. Yay. Tessa (top middle) is GOATED. Tessa also really likes tea; in fact, she drinks two large travel mugs of tea a day. So, I guess you could say T is drinking Tea. Tessa hates slow walkers and has horrible allergies. Alivia (top right) is canonically powered rainbows and Mitski music. They have a cat named Pocket who is literally the cutest thing in the entire universe, and they worship her like a God. They like to bake stuff with chocolate in it, play violin and volleyball. They love nature so much it literally kills their soul when they don’t get to be outside frolicking. They hope to one day work at Yellowstone National Park and heal the world of all its freaky human-caused diseases. <3 Mr. Vona (bottom left) has been singing and dancing around The Echo staff for fifteen years now. Big unc turned 40 this year!! Dragged kicking and screaming to the states, Zach (Bottom right) says "g'day mate" as he pwns noobs on Smash Bros for the Nintendo 64 and steals copper from flock cameras and disappears into the distance.
